Photos from Andrew Wiles lecture 14 March 2018
15 minutes before the lecture, only a few seats were available at the HC Ørsted Institute's largest auditorium - and they were reserved for faculty of the department, the board members of the Danish Mathematical Society, and selected guests.
The auditorium can seat 400 people, but with 500 participants, several had to sit on the stairs or stand up.
Professor Emeritus Christian Skau from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology gave a brief history of the Abel Prize, which Sir Andrew Wiles received in 2016. Wiles was introduced by Associate Professor Magdalena Musat, who is the organizer of the Harald Bohr Lecture series.
