Campus Days with name games and studio intro

Study Introduction

Yo ho! A handful of pirates control with a sure hand each a group of new students around to various activities at the North Campus. It’s Campus Days the last week in August, and it is teeming with costumed tutors, instructors – and new students.

"It is crucial to get the new students to form social relationships. If you sit alone with the kind of mathematics that we work with here, you will go cold”, says tutor Jenny Overgaard to Uniavisen. Jenny was one of this year’s tutors in Mathematics-Economics and Actuarial Mathematics.

So the Campus Days is not only about introductions from teachers and counsellors, but also treasure hunt in the University Park, name games and foosball tournaments.

A total of 290 new students started in the mathematical sciences this year. 180 in Mathematics, 60 in Mathematics-Economics and 50 in Actuarial Mathematics. Entry requirements were 5.1 / 9.1 / 10.4.

"You will learn to lead a proof. That is to explore all possibilities. That ability can be used for many things – you will be sought after”, said department head Erik Kjær Pedersen in his welcome.
