“We are very excited that Péter Vrana joins the QMATH centre as our first visiting professor for half a year", says Professor Matthias Christandl. 

Alex Kemarsky is employed at the department as postdoc affiliated with the Section for Geometric Analysis and Mathematical Physics. His postdoc mentor will be Henrik Schlichtkrull. 

Daniel Bergh started at the University of Copenhagen at 1 January 2017, as a postdoc funded by Lars Hesselholt's Niels Bohr professorship.

Florian Speelman joined the department on 15 September 2016 as a postdoc with the Villum Center for Excellence in the Mathematics of Quantum Theory (QMATH). 

Angelo Lucia has joined the department as a postdoc with the Villum Centre of Excellence for the Mathematics of Quantum Theory (QMATH) starting on December 1st 2016.  Matthias Christandl is his postdoc mentor. 

Tobias Barthel is employed as a postdoc from 1 September 2016, in a three year position. He will be working with the Topology research group and the Centre for Symmetry and Deformation.

Dr Yiannis Petridis will in his 11th visit to the department study counting points on affine homogeneous varieties using spectral theory of automorphic forms, working with Morten Risager and Henrik Schlichtkrull, members of the Geometric Analysis and Mathematical Physics Section.

Giacomo De Palma has joined the department on 1st October 2016 as a postdoc with the Villum Centre of Excellence for the Mathematics of Quantum Theory (QMATH). His postdoc mentor is Matthias Christandl.

Markus Hausmann is hired as a postdoc from September 1st, 2016, in a three year position at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Centre for Symmetry and Deformation.

Niels Martin Møller joined the University of Copenhagen on August 1st, 2016, as tenure-track assistant professor in mathematics. He will be affiliated with the section of Geometric Analysis and Mathematical Physics.

Jonas Peters is employed as associate professor from 17 August 2016. He will be affiliated with the research group Statistics and Probability Theory.

Alexander Kupers is employed as a postdoc from 1 July 2016. He will be working with the topology research group and the Centre for Symmetry and Deformation.

Professor of topology Søren Galatius will give his inaugural lecture at Department of Mathematical Sciences Friday 27 May 2016 at 15:00, followed by a reception.

Albert is joining the department as a postdoc – with a Feodor Lynen Fellowship (a Humboldt Foundation sponsorship) - from May 2016. He is associated with the section for Geometric Analysis and Mathematical Physics. 

Michael Sørensen will 1 August 2016 take over as Head of the Department of Mathematical Sciences, where he has been a professor of mathematical statistics since 1997. For almost 10 years he has been Deputy Head of Research.
