Statistics, dynamics and biological mechanics. That’s the title of the inaugural lecture by Niels Richard Hansen. The lecture is Friday 28 November 2014, at 15:00 in the HCØ's auditorium 4.

Ulrik Buchholtz is employed as postdoc at The Department of Mathematical Sciences from 1 November 2014.

Piotr Maciak is employed at Department of Mathematical Sciences from the 1st of September, 2014, as a postdoc in the Algebra and Number Theory group.

MATH has hired Jérémy Sok as a postdoc, associated with the Geometric Analysis and Mathematical Physics group. Jan Philip Solovej is his postdoc mentor.

Professor Jørn Børling Olsson turned 70 June 10, 2014, and has decided to retire on 1 September 2014. On Friday, 26 September, Jørn gives his retirement lecture.

Professor Christian Berg delivers his retirement lecture at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, 26 September 2014 under the heading "My mathematical journey". Christian continues as professor emeritus at the Department.   

The Department of Mathematical Sciences has employed Olivier Wintenberger from September 2014. He will be working with the research group Insurance & Economics in a 2-year professor position.
