She finds stability in symmetry
MATH in media
What do you get out of researching in symmetry, infinity and holes? The magazine Ingeniøren has asked Professor Nathalie Wahl at the Department of Mathematical Sciences to describe her field of research, algebraic topology.
Research in abstract shapes with infinite dimensions, which can be divided into different categories to get new knowledge about a mathematical field - is not a task that most would undertake.
But that’s what Professor Nathalie Wahl, who works at the Centre for Symmetry and Deformation, is doing. She works with the complex mathematical discipline algebraic topology; an area of mathematics that deals with space and objects in space.
