Alexandra Brooke Munoz, postdoc at SYM
Alexandra joined the department as a postdoc in October 2017. She is funded by her Villum Experiment grant for the project, “Beyond the Genome: Re-theorizing the cellular system“.
Alexandra is affiliated with the Centre for Symmetry and Deformation. Søren Eilers is her mentor. She will conduct laboratory work at the Niels Bohr Institute as a guest of the Membrane Biophysics group and Thomas Heimburg.
Alexandra was previously a guest at the Centre for Symmetry and Deformation through a DNRF-NSF GROW grant.
Alexandra holds a PhD in Molecular and Genetic Toxicology from New York University. She holds a Masters in Environmental Health from New York University. Alexandra received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University.
Her research interests include developing applications of mathematics and physics to better describe cellular function, generalize intracellular chemistry, and re-map the cytosolic space.
