Annachiara Piubello, postdoc
Annachiara is employed as a postdoc from 1st January 2025 in the Algebra & Geometry Section.
Her research focuses on geometric analysis, particularly scalar curvature, asymptotically flat manifolds, mass, quasi-local mass, and asymptotic foliations, with applications to mathematical physics and spacetime geometry.
Annachiara was born and raised in Italy. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Trento (Italy) and her master’s degree from the University of Tübingen (Germany) under the supervision of Prof. Carla Cederbaum.
In 2023, she completed her PhD at the University of Miami (USA) under the supervision of Prof. Pengzi Miao, with a thesis titled “Mass and Quasi-Local Mass in General Relativity.”
After her PhD, she worked as a postdoc at the University of Potsdam (Germany), collaborating with Prof. Jan Metzger on problems related to STCMC foliations of asymptotically Euclidean manifolds.
In the fall of 2024, she was a postdoc at the SLMath Institute (USA), (formerly MSRI), participating in the program New Frontiers in Curvature: Flows, General Relativity, Minimal Submanifolds, and Symmetry.
Here in Copenhagen, she will be part of the GeoTop group, with Niels Martin Møller as her mentor.
You can meet Annachiara in office 04.0.09 (or 0.10 in January).
