Anssi Lahtinen, visiting assistant professor at SYM
Anssi Lahtinen returned to the University of Copenhagen on 1 January 2018 as a visiting assistant professor. He will be affiliated with the topology group and the Centre for Symmetry and Deformation.
After receiving his PhD from Stanford University, Anssi has previously held postdoctoral positions at University of Copenhagen, KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden) and Universität Hamburg (Germany).
In his research, Anssi is interested in algebraic topology with a focus on string topology and its applications to problems in group homology and cohomology.
His research plans for the next eight months at the Department of Mathematical Sciences include further development and exploitation of the "string topology of finite groups of Lie type" he has recently discovered with Professor Jesper Grodal.
