Beatriz Pascual Escudero, postdoc at MBIO
Beatriz Pascual Escudero is employed at the department as a postdoc from March 1st 2019. She is affiliated with the research groups Algebra & Number Theory and Mathematics of reaction networks (MBIO).
Beatriz will stay for two years, studying Chemical Reaction Networks using Algebraic Geometry at the MBIO group, under the supervision of Elisenda Feliu. She is supported by a Marie Curie Fellowship.
She obtained her PhD in January 2018 from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain). The topic of her thesis was the relation between invariants of Constructive Resolution of Singularities and arc spaces of algebraic varieties.
Since then she has been working as a postdoc at LS2N-Centrale Nantes (France), where she studied singularities of parallel robots using algebraic geometry.
Beatriz’ mathematical interests include topics in pure and applied Algebraic Geometry and Commutative Algebra, such as singularities of algebraic varieties and polynomial systems coming from science and engineering. Read more on her homepage.
