Benjamin Brück, postdoc
Benjamin Brück started as a postdoc at 1 April 2020 and will stay in Copenhagen for six months. He is a member of the Algebra & Geometry Section and the Centre for Geometry and Topology. His mentor is Nathalie Wahl.
Benjamin is working in geometric group theory. He finished his PhD in Bielefeld University, Germany, with Kai-Uwe Bux at the beginning of this year. The title of his thesis was "Between buildings and free factor complexes". In it, Benjamin studied automorphism groups of free groups and right-angled Artin groups using methods from topology and combinatorics.
Before that, Benjamin did his Bachelor and Master studies at WWU Münster and wrote his Master thesis during a one-semester stay at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, France.
During his time in Copenhagen, Benjamin wants to look into new projects and is especially interested in questions related to homological stability.
Currently, Benjamin is still working from home in Bielefeld. He is looking forward to get to know people in Copenhagen, hopefully soon also without using a webcam. Until then, you can read more about Benjamin at his homepage.
