Benjamin Briggs, postdoc
Benjamin Briggs is a postdoc in the Algebra and Geometry section, starting 1 October 2022.
Benjamin works on commutative algebra and representation theory, often using homotopical methods. In Copenhagen, he will be working with Jesper Grodal and Nathalie Wahl on the structure of Hochschild cohomology.
Benjamin is originally from UK; he has a Master’s degree from the University of Warwick. He obtained his PhD from the University of Toronto, Canada, under Ragnar Buchweitz with the thesis “Local Commutative Algebra and Hochschild Cohomology Through the Lens of Koszul Duality”.
Before Copenhagen, he was working as a postdoc at the University of Utah, USA, (with Srikanth Iyengar) and MSRI (with David Eisenbud).
