Bhavik Kumar, PhD student
Starting 1 September 2023, Bhavik Kumar will begin his PhD at the Quantum for Life Centre, associated with the Department of Mathematical Sciences.
Bhavik graduated with an integrated bachelor's and master's degree in Physics from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in Mohali, India.
He wrote his Master's thesis supervised by Dr. Jad C. Halimeh from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, titled "Stabilizing Quantum Simulators of Lattice Gauge Theories against 1/f Noise". It focused on the efficacy of linear gauge protection in stabilizing salient features of gauge theories in quantum simulators, such as gauge invariance and exotic far-from-equilibrium phenomena.
Under Daniel Malz's supervision, Bhavik’s PhD will delve into various aspects of quantum computation and simulation on synthetic quantum matter platforms. His interest also extends to exploring non-equilibrium quantum dynamics from the vantage point of quantum information theory.
You can meet Bhavik at Vibenshuset, Lyngbyvej 1.
