Boris Bolvig Kjær, PhD student
1 January 2022 Boris Bolvig Kjær was employed as a PhD student in the Analysis & Quantum Section, and the Centre for the Mathematics of Quantum Theory (QMATH).
“My research is on topological phases of matter”, explains Boris. “This physical phenomenon is studied using methods of index theory with various approaches coming from non-commutative geometry as well as coarse geometry. It is also described as patterns of long-range entanglement from the point of view of quantum information theory”.
Albert Werner (QMATH) supervises Boris’ PhD project. It is an integrated PhD program running until June 2025.
Boris finished his Bachelor’s degree at UCPH in 2015 and completed the masters Part III of the Mathematical Tripos at the University of Cambridge in 2016.
“I have worked with software engineering and machine learning in different startup companies in London over 4 years. I like to practice my programming skills through working with proof assistant software,” says Boris.
You can find Boris at the QMATH offices in Vibenshuset, Lyngbyvej 2, 4th floor.
