Emil Tore Mærsk Pedersen, PhD student
Newly employed
Emil Tore Mærsk Pedersen was employed as a PhD student on 1 September 2023 in the Quantum for Life Centre.
Emil is Danish-Belgian and grew up in Brussels, where he did his bachelor’s in physics, before moving to Copenhagen to do a quantum physics master’s at the Niels Bohr Institute.
His master’s thesis, entitled "Exploring a neutral atom quantum simulator in the cloud", was supervised by Matthias Christandl. Emil explains:
“I ran benchmarks and experiments on QuEra's Aquila quantum simulator through cloud-access, also comparing the results with numerical simulations. Now I will continue to research in (analogue) quantum simulation”.
Emil works from Vibenshuset, Lyngbyvej 1.
