Erik Lindell, postdoc
Since July 2024, Erik Lindell has been a visiting postdoc with the section for Algebra & Geometry and the Centre for Geometry and Topology, mentored by Nathalie Wahl.
A scholarship from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation supports Erik’s research.
Erik received his master's degree from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm in 2018. After this he was a PhD student at Stockholm University, under the supervision of Dan Petersen, and completed his PhD in the spring of 2023. His thesis was called “Stable invariants of some topological moduli spaces”.
He spent the academic year of 2023/2024 as an FSMP postdoc at the Institut de Mathématiques de Jussieu in Paris, France, mentored by Najib Idrissi.
Erik's research interests lie in the areas of algebraic and geometric topology and his research is in particular focused on mapping class groups and moduli spaces of manifolds. His current main projects are about stable cohomology of mapping class groups of handlebodies and their Torelli subgroups.
