Francesco Chini, PhD student at QMATH
Francesco Chini is employed as a PhD student as of December 1st 2016, with the section Geometric Analysis and Mathematical Physics and the “Villum Centre of Excellence for the Mathematics of Quantum Theory” (QMATH).
Francesco is interested in geometry and partial differential equations. His research for the PhD will concern geometric flows, particularly the study of singularities and solitons in mean curvature flow and its connections with the theory of minimal surfaces.
Francesco’s PhD advisors will be Niels Martin Møller and Bergfinnur Durhuus.
Francesco has his bachelor's as well as master's ("On Some Splitting Theorems in Riemannian Geometry", July 2016) from the University of Trento, Italy. In the past he additionally studied for one year at the University of Helsinki, Finland, via the Erasmus exchange project.
He will be seated in office 04.0.14 (but until 22/12/16: 04.4.03).
