Freek Witteveen, postdoc
Freek Witteveen will be joining the department’s Analysis & Quantum section as a postdoc on 1 October 2022.
Freek is originally from the Netherlands. He obtained a master's in Mathematical Physics and later his PhD at the University of Amsterdam and QuSoft, the Research centre for Quantum software & technology, supervised by Michael Walter.
In Copenhagen, he will be working with Matthias Christandl and the Centre for the Mathematics of Quantum Theory.
“In general I am interested in the interface between quantum information theory and many-body physics”, says Freek.
“I have worked on mathematical properties of tensor networks, ranging from improving understanding of numerical methods to using them as a toy model for quantum gravity. Besides that, I have worked on locality in quantum dynamics.”
You can find Freek at the QMATH office in Vibenshuset.
