Gabriel Damsholt & Siniša Lukić, research assistants
Gabriel and Siniša are hired as part of Susanne Ditlevsen’s research grant project “CUSP”. The project is exploring new methods for statistical inference and identifying causal relationships in large amounts of data from the biology and health areas.
CUSP stands for “Statistical inference for coupled stochastic processes with multiple timescales and changing environments”. A research project supported by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. Read more about CUSP.
Gabriel and Siniša will work on parameter estimation in multidimensional non-linear systems and estimation of tipping times in the climate system.
Gabriel has a BSc and an MSc in Computer Science from the Department of Computer Science, and also a BSc in statistics from MATH. He has participated in several programming competitions, as a member of the team “Participants”. He enjoys multi-day hiking and bikepacking in remote and beautiful places.
Siniša has a BSc from the University of Belgrade, Serbia, and an MSc in statistics from our department. His thesis was “Investigating Optimal Strategies of Splitting Schemes for Parameter Estimation of Stochastic Differential Equations”. Siniša has been working part-time as a data analyst in WHO and AG Analytics a/s.
