Gabriel Niels Damsholt, PhD student
Gabriel started on 1 November 2024 as a PhD student in the Statistics and Probability section with Susanne Ditlevsen as supervisor.
Gabriel holds a BSc in Computer Science, plus a BSc in Mathematics, both from UCPH. They were followed by an MSc in Computer Science at the same place.
For the past year, he has been employed as a research assistant at Susanne Ditlevsen's research project “CUSP”. The project is exploring new methods for statistical inference and identifying causal relationships in large amounts of data from the biology and health areas.
"I am interested in the overlap between deep learning and stochastic differential equations, especially dynamical transport of measure and how Brownian noise can work as a regulariser within this framework. I am currently working on understanding the stochastic interpolant framework in depth and hope to use it to effectively model stochasticity in time series e.g. for use within climate research", says Gabriel.
