Gabriele Ciccarello, PhD student
Gabriele Ciccarello started on 1 December 2024 as a PhD student at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, affiliated with the Analysis & Quantum Section and the Centre for the Mathematics of Quantum Theory.
Gabriele completed his bachelor’s degree in physics and recently earned his master's from Sapienza University of Rome. His thesis work, supervised by Prof. Gianluca Panati and Prof. Domenico Monaco, focused on topological phases of matter and their connection to the localization properties of Wannier Functions.
During his PhD, he will work on the mathematics of Bose gases, a topic that requires further investigation to be fully understood, says Gabriele. His PhD, supervised by Søren Fournais, will concentrate on the study of the ground state energy of such systems.
Moreover, Gabriele is deeply passionate about theatre and has been acting in Italy for nearly a decade.
You can find him at the QMATH Centre in Vibenshuset.
