Hailun Zheng, postdoc
Hailun Zheng started as a postdoc on 1 August 2020. She is a member of the Algebra & Geometry Section. Her mentor is Karim Adiprasito.
Hailun’s research interest lies in geometric combinatorics. She finished her PhD at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA, under the supervision of Isabella Novik. The title of her dissertation is "On the g2 -number of various classes of spheres and manifolds", in which she studies several combinatorial problems concerning the upper bound and lower bound on the face numbers of polytopes and triangulated manifolds.
After that, she spent five months as a postdoc in the Geometric and Topological Combinatorics Program of MSRI. Then she held another postdoc position at the University of Michigan for 2.5 years.
In Copenhagen, Hailun would like to continue to study the geometry and combinatorics of polytopes, and explore the connections between combinatorics, algebraic topology and metric geometry.
