The Dean has appointed Henrik Holm as Professor of Mathematics at the Department for Mathematical Sciences from 1 March 2025.

Henrik Holm has a BSc and MSc from the University of Copenhagen and received his PhD in 2004 under the direction of Hans-Bjørn Foxby.
He worked as an assistant professor at the University of Aarhus from 2004 to 2007 and at the University of Copenhagen from 2007 to 2011, continuing there as an associate professor from 2011.
Henrik has published more than 30 research papers in homological algebra, ring theory, and category theory and is known for his contributions to Gorenstein homological algebra. He co-authored the book Derived Category Methods in Commutative Algebra (Springer 2024) jointly with Lars Winther Christensen and Hans-Bjorn Foxby. It can be expected to be widely used as a graduate textbook and reference work. He has given more than 30 invited talks and lecture series internationally.
“Henrik is dedicated to excellence in teaching. The courses he teaches consistently receive praise in student evaluations, and he has supervised numerous BSc, MSc, and PhD students, guiding them toward careers both within and outside of academia. We are excited that Henrik continues his journey with us as a professor with productive and successful research and teaching activities,” says Head of Department Mogens Steffensen.
