Jon Lilholt Sørensen, PhD student

Newly employed

Jon Lilholt Sørensen has since 1 September 2024 been employed as a PhD student in the Insurance and Economics section.

Jon Lilholt Sørensen

Jon has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics-economics from the University of Southern Denmark and similarly a master's degree in mathematics-economics from Aarhus University, the latter specialised within the field of Operations Research.

His thesis "Algorithms for Solving the Large-Scale Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem" continues the work of the article "Exact separation of the rounded capacity inequalities for the Capacitated Vehicle Routing problem", which he co-authored, focusing on solving the Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem to optimality whilst exploring the exact separation of valid inequalities.

“My PhD project under the supervision of Giovanni Pantuso aims to explore similar problems such as the first-mile ride-sharing problem by using similar methods focusing on, amongst others, the formulation of the problems, column generation, and row generation.
