Marco Fanizza, postdoc
Marco Fanizza was employed as a postdoc on 1 September 2024, working in the Section for Analysis & Quantum and the Centre for the Mathematics of Quantum Theory (QMATH) under the mentorship of Matthias Christandl.
Marco's research focuses on quantum information theory, particularly quantum statistical inference and communication. Recently, he has been interested in modelling and learning complex quantum systems. He introduced a statistical learning framework for classical to quantum channels, and he worked on characterizing and learning finitely correlated states with an approach based on general probabilistic theories and operator systems.
With Matthias Christandl, Marco will explore the connections between entropies of multipartite quantum states, spectrum estimation and group representation theory, and their implications.
Marco studied Physics at the University of Pisa and Scuola Normale Superiore and received his PhD from Scuola Normale Superiore in 2021, supervised by Vittorio Giovannetti. After that, he was a postdoc at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, mentored by John Calsamiglia and Andreas Winter.
You can meet Marco in Vibenshuset, Lyngbyvej 2.
