Martin Bladt, postdoc
Starting 1 September 2022, Martin Bladt is employed as a postdoc at the Department of Mathematical Sciences. He joins the section for Insurance and Economics.
Martin works in the interface between statistics, applied probability, and insurance mathematics.
He is born in Aalborg (Denmark) and has a Bachelor’s degree from The National Autonomous University of Mexico and a Master’s degree from the University of Copenhagen. He completed his PhD in 2020 in Lausanne, Switzerland, under the supervision of Hansjörg Albrecher. His main areas of interest were statistics of extremes, matrix distributions, and applications to non-life insurance.
In Copenhagen, Martin will continue to work on devising new models, which provide a rich mathematical basis to tackle problems of large practical interest in applied statistics and the insurance field.
Martin’s current research interests include heavy-tailed censoring problems; semi-Markov modeling; matrix, functional and distributional regression; and applications to insurance, geosciences, and related fields.
You can find Martin in office 04.3.06.
