Martin Dam Larsen, PhD student
Martin Dam Larsen will from 1 April 2023 be employed as a PhD student at the department’s Analysis & Quantum section and the Centre for the Mathematics of Quantum Theory (QMATH).
Martin holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in mathematics from Aarhus University. During his time in Aarhus, Martin grew a broad interest in analysis, in particular the intersection between PDEs, abstract functional analysis, and spectral theory.
His master’s degree programme was concluded with a thesis on the limiting absorption principle for one-body Schrödinger operators with long-range potentials. The thesis was written under the supervision of Erik Skibsted.
During his PhD, Martin will be working on the project “Semi-classical estimates for magnetic operators with applications to area laws”, also within the realm of spectral theory, under the supervision of Jan Philip Solovej. The goal of the project is to establish Widom-type semi-classical expansions of magnetic Schrödinger operators.
You can find Martin at the QMATH office in Vibenshuset.
