Martin Emil Jakobsen, PhD student at SPT
Martin Emil Jakobsen has been employed as a PhD student at the Department of Mathematical Sciences since 1 August 2018. Martin has joined the Section for Statistics and Probability Theory.
Martin’s research will be within the fields of data science and causality and his research is to be conducted under the supervision of Associate Professor Jonas Peters.
Martin holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Actuarial Mathematics from this department. He graduated in February 2017 with a master's thesis about non-parametric independence testing of random elements in metric spaces. The master’s thesis was supervised by Professor Thomas Mikosch.

Between graduation and starting on his PhD, Martin has been employed at PFA Pension in the team Actuarial Innovation and Models.
