Martin Tegnér, assistant professor
Martin Tegnér was employed as a tenure-track assistant professor from 1 June 2021 in the section of Insurance and Economics.
Martin has master’s degrees from Lund University and the University of Edinburgh. He received his PhD from the University of Copenhagen with Rolf Poulsen and did a postdoc with Samuel N. Cohen in the Mathematical Institute at the University of Oxford. He also work in the Machine Learning Research Group with Stephen Roberts when held an academic position as a research assistant in the Department of Engineering and Oxford-Man Institute at the University of Oxford.
Martin is keen to apply and develop machine learning methods for real problems. His research interest spans probabilistic machine learning, adaptive decision making and uncertainty quantification. He likes applications in quantitative finance as well as data-driven AI in the interaction with humans.
Martin’s strong interest in probabilistic approaches, finance and human-centric machine learning grew from his time with the Machine Learning Research Group at the University of Oxford, from being a member at the Oxford-Man Institute, and from working with data science in industry.
