Mateusz Kandybo, PhD student

Newly employed

Mateusz Kandybo was employed as a PhD student in the Analysis & Quantum Section on 1 November 2024.

Mateusz Kandybo

Mateusz comes from Poland and studied at the University of Wrocław. He received his bachelor's degree in 2022 and his master's in 2024.

During his studies he focused on investigating the properties of groups acting on CAT(0) spaces. In both of his theses, "CAT(0)-boundaries of free products are dense amalgams" supervised by Jacek Świątkowski and "Biautomaticity of CAT(0) triangle-square complexes" supervised by Motiejus Valiunas, he aimed to study different properties of such groups.

Mateusz will also be working with the section for Algebra & Geometry. Currently, he is starting his PhD under the supervision of Damian Osajda. His interests are centred around combinatorial and geometric group theory.  In his research, he studies the properties of groups acting on non-positively curved spaces, as well as such spaces themselves.

You can find Mateusz in office 04.0.04.
