Nanna Havn Aamand, 4+4 PhD student
Newly employed
Nanna started as a 4+4 PhD student at the Department on September 1st 2019, associated with the Topology research group. Her principal PhD advisor is Professor Nathalie Wahl.
Nanna is interested in the intersection between algebraic topology and mathematical physics, more precisely in the study of topological quantum field theories.
She did her Bachelor's degree at the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen and her Master's degree at Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo, Canada.
In her Master's thesis, she explored how knot invariants can be recovered from topological Chern-Simons theory. Her thesis was supervised by Professor Kevin Costello.
