Nina Lange, assistant professor
Nina Lange has been employed as an assistant professor since 1 January 2024 in the section for Insurance and Economics.
Nina works with stochastic models for prices, risk, and planning, primarily applied to commodities and shipping with a focus on models that can find real use in industry.
She supervises a PhD project (in collaboration with the Technical University of Denmark and Ultrabulk) on the development and optimization of models for predicting freight rates and subsequent optimization of route plans for dry bulk vessels.
At MATH, she will supervise bachelor projects in finance, and she collaborates with David Skovmand and Malthe Johansen on a project on multivariate models for commodity prices.
Nina has previously worked as a Lecturer at the University of Sussex's Business School and as an assistant professor at DTU.
She obtained her PhD from Copenhagen Business School in collaboration with at that time DONG Energy. She graduated in mathematics-economics from the University of Copenhagen and has a Master of Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
