Sazzad Biswas, postdoc
The department’s section Geometric Analysis and Mathematical Physics were 1 October 2019 supplemented with postdoc Sazzad Biswas.
Sazzad did his PhD in the University of Hyderabad, India, in March 2016, under the supervision of Prof. Rajat Tandon and Prof. E.W. Zink (Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany). The thesis works are on the computation of the local constants for Galois representations of the absolute Galois group of a non-Archimedean local field.
Before his PhD, Sazzad did both his B.Sc. and M.Sc degree from the Jadavpur University, Calcutta, India.
After his PhD, he joined in the Chennai Mathematical Institute, Chennai, India as a Visiting Fellow. Then in July 2018, he moved to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, as a postdoc.
Sazzad’s areas of interest belong to the Langlands Program and arithmetic geometry. Currently, he has been trying to use analytic torsion to associate Galois representations with the torsion (co)homology of arithmetic groups.
