Newly employed
Silvan Vollmer is employed as a PhD student from 1 May 2024 in the department’s section for Statistics and Probability Theory.
Originally from Germany, Silvan studied at the University of Cologne and ETH Zurich. His master's thesis in Statistics focused on the event of linear separability in a nonasymptotic regime using methods from conic geometry.
Silvan is interested in estimating causal effects and discovering causal relations. He works under the supervision of Niklas Pfister and Sebastian Weichwald, within the Copenhagen Causality Lab.
In his PhD, he investigates how measurement errors bias the estimation of causal effects.
You can find Silvan in office 04.3.03.
