Vincent Steffan, research assistant and PhD student
Newly employed
Vincent started as a research assistant 1 October 2019 at the section for Geometric Analysis and Mathematical Physics associated with the QMATH-centre. From 1 January 2020 he's employed as a PhD student.
Vincent did both his Bachelor and his Master at the Technical University Munich in pure mathematics. His Master’s thesis was about creating long range encoded entanglement using operations local with respect to a 2D geometry.
Vincent says he's fascinated by the interplay of mathematics and physics, how one can apply mathematical reasoning to physics and use physical intuition to think about mathematics. Right now, he is working on tensor network representations of quantum states.
