Maj-Britt Nordfang - PhD student
Maj-Britt Nordfang has been employed as a PhD student at the Department of Mathematical Sciences since July 2013. She is part of the research group Insurance and Economics and is associated with the HIPERFIT project.
Her research takes an outset in formalized financial decision problems of individual households (e.g. optimal investment/consumption) with a particular interest in the applied assumptions of preferences and rationality and their relation to time (in)consistency.
Building on a foundation of stochastic control theory, she aims to work towards a bridging with operations research, hereby broadening the class of optimization problems studied and increasing focus on practical application.
Maj-Britt finished her master’s in the spring of 2011 and is returning to the university from a position as an actuary in Danica Pension.
