Simon Rose, new postdoc
Simon Rose is employed as a postdoc, associated with the research groups Topology and Algebra & Number Theory. He will primarily be working with Lars Halle.
Simon is interested in the intersections between Number Theory, Geometry, and Physics. His work has focused on the enumerative geometry of Abelian and K3 surfaces, as well as studying hyper elliptic curves and Hurwitz theory. In all of the cases he has so far studied, modular forms have snuck in, which makes him happy. Simon says.
Simon received his PhD in 2012 under Jim Bryan at the University of British Columbia, Canada. He has since been a postdoc at Queen's University, Canada, as well as at the Field's Institute, Canada, and most recently at the Max-Planck-Institut für Mathematik in Bonn, Germany.
Simon’s office is in 4.2.01.
