Revival of the Department Colloquium

The great tradition of the Department Colloquium is resuming. It is meant to bring together faculty, postdocs and graduate students (PhD and Master Students) from all research areas represented in the department, both pure and applied.

Clarisson R.P. Canlubo, PhD student

January 1, 2014, Clarisson Rizzie P. Canlubo started as a PhD student at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, UCHP. He supervisor is Ryszard Nest and he is associated with the research group in Non-Commutative Geometry and the Centre for Symmetry and Deformation.

Dissemination Award to Søren Eilers

Professor Søren Eilers has received the Science Dissemination Award at a reception 10 December 2013. With the award came the trophy "The Golden Megaphone" and 25,000 DKK.

New center for computer-based mathematics education

Center for Computational Mathematics Teaching, under the Department of Mathematical Sciences, provides the framework for new, exciting research and development for math teachers in high school.

Niels Richard Hansen appointed Professor of Statistics

The Dean has appointed Niels Richard Hansen Professor of "Computational Statistics" at the Department of Mathematical Sciences.

Kang Li is employed as a PhD student at the Department of Mathematical Sciences from 1st November, 2013. He is part of the Statistics and Probability Theory group, and affiliated to the DSIN project.

MATH at Culture Night

Friday October 11 it’s Culture Night in Copenhagen. Among the more than 500 events specially arranged for this one evening, the Department of Mathematical Sciences invites you to a “Gaming Cafe”.

2 million DKK for research in number theory

Anders Södergren, a postdoctoral scholar at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, has received 2 million DKK for a two year project "Number Theory and Automorphic Forms in High Dimensions”.
