Title: Trivializing the circle in the higher genus little discs operad

Abstract: I will explain why a trivialization of the circle in the higher genus little disc operad is homotopy equivalent to the Deligne-Mumford operad of (tree-like) stable curves. This generalises to higher genus a result of Drummond-Cole in genus 0. Joint work with Dmitry Vaintrob.
