Title: Towards a construction of genera for p-local (topological) automorphic forms

Abstract: This is joint work with Hanno von Bodecker. We construct a rational genus to a ring of automorphic forms for unitary groups associated to hermitian forms of signature (1,n-1) on an unimodular lattice over a totally imaginary number field of class number one and even discriminant. I will mainly talk about the special case n=2, but much of our work carries over to n=3 or even arbitrary n. Of course, we are interested in integrality properties of these genera and I will outline how we hope to attack these questions via p-adic K-theory. The long term goal is to produce a p-local version of topological automorphic forms.
