Title: Families of monotone Lagrangians

Abstract: We explain some methods for constructing collections of monotone Lagrangians in some families of affine hypersurfaces; these give, for instance, infinite collections of monotone Lagrangians in $\mathbb{C}^3$. We will explain different strategies for telling them apart, including using holomorphic curve invariants. No prior knowledge of symplectic topology will be assumed. Partially based on joint work with Mohammed Abouzaid.
