Title: Semigroup C*-algebras

Abstract: We will present the basic definitions, examples and results about semigroup C ∗-algebras. We will focus on the case in which the semigroup P embeds into a group G. Some important results about semigroup C ∗-algebras require (G, P ) to satisfy the so-called Toeplitz condition. We will present examples which don’t satisfy this condition.
