Title: Mean curvature flows of closed hypersurfaces in a class of warped product manifolds
Abstract: An important feature of the mean curvature flow (MCF) of closed convex hypersurfaces in Euclidean space is that it contracts and disappears in finite time. In this talk, I will describe how the MCF behaves in a large class of warped product manifolds. In particular, we prove that for some initial hypersurfaces which are not extremely tilted, the MCF exists for all time, and converges to a totally geodesic hypersurface. This is based on joint work with Z. Zhang and H. Zhou.
