Title: The local geometry of Idempotent multipliers.
Abstract: Schur multipliers are linear maps that act on matrix algebras with profound applications in functional analysis and operator algebras. Moreover, they are also related with a central object in classical and noncommutative harmonic analysis, Fourier multipliers. In this talk we will present some results related to their boundedness properties. Later we will present some applications in the context of analysis on von Neumann algebras. This is joint work with J. Parcet and M. de la Salle.
