Title: Artin groups and the isomorphism problem

Abstract: Artin groups form a large family of groups with interesting algebraic and geometric properties. Examples of Artin groups include free groups, free abelian groups, braid groups, and many more. The first half of the talk will be dedicated to introducing Artin groups and various notions of interest surrounding them. In the second half of the talk I will focus on the isomorphism problem, which asks "When are two Artin groups isomorphic"? I will give several partial answers to this question.
