My Life in Maths - Jacqui Ramagge
The diversity committee at MATH invites to a lecture by Jacqui Rammage, University of Sydney.
Title:
My Life in Maths
Abstract:
The talk is best described as the reading of a play in three acts outlining my life as a mathematician in academia.
It will be the story of my life from my undergraduate years to the present day, the decisions I have made, and the experiences that have formed me.
The story will be punctuated by some mathematics from time to time for context but very little time will be devoted to mathematics.
Mathematicians in the making will be able to safely ignore the mathematics and enjoy the story of a woman in academia who happens to be a mathematician.
After the talk the Department invites to a reception, everyone is welcome.
