Title: On the classification of simple C*-algebras
Abstract: Recent progress in the K-theoretical classification of well behaved simple C*-algebras will be surveyed. Here, "well behaved" means both just in the basic sensible sense, i.e., separable and amenable (= nuclear), but also further restricted in a rather mysterious way, which may just amount to absorbing tensorially the Jiang-Su C*-algebra. (One also needs the so-called Universal Coefficient Theorem of KK-theory (UCT) to hold, but, for the algebras in question, it is conceivable that this is redundant.)
