Title: Three intriguing aspects of Thompson's groups.

Abstract: I will briefly discuss, in an non-technical fashion, the following. Thompson's group F:
(1) has hereditarily undecidable elementary theory,
(2) detects monoidal categories among the categories with
    functoral multiplication, and
(3) has very complex subgroup structure.
