N2 - We outline a construction of topological quantum field theories based on generalised 6j-symbols associated with the representation theory of algebras satisfying certain properties and argue that deformations of the enveloping algebras of classical simple Lie algebras satisfy these properties when the value of the deformation parameter equals a primitive root of ∼ 1.
