Jan Steinebrunner, postdoc
Jan Steinebrunner startede den 1. august 2022 som postdoc tilknyttet AG-sektionen og GeoTop Centret. Han skal arbejde sammen med Søren Galatius og Nathalie Wahl.
Jan beskriver sine forskningsinteresser således: “Anything homotopical, but my research focuses on the study of moduli spaces of manifolds "BDiff(M)" using techniques from homotopy theory. Concretely, I’m studying how these moduli spaces assemble into higher algebraic structures, such as bordism categories or operads, with the goal of using these structures to recover information about more classical objects such as the cohomology of mapping class groups of surfaces”.
“This work has also led me to think about new ways of approaching infinity-operads and some of their cousins such as cyclic/modular infinity-operads, and infinity-properads”, forklarer Jan.
Jan modtog sine BSc og MSc grader fra University of Freiburg, Tyskland, før han flyttede til Storbritannien, hvor han afsluttede en ph.d. under vejledning af Ulrike Tillmann. Derefter startede han et forskningsstipendium på Gonville and Caius College i Cambridge i 2021, som lige nu er på pause, mens han besøger København i et år.
